Fraser Valley home sales remained steady in July; lowest supply in forty years

Extreme market with record sales in August with low supply in four decades.

High demand for real estate in Fraser Valley made the second-highest sales ever for August. 

Total 2,087 sales were processed by the Board in August which was an increase of 4% from July and 2.4% from August last year. Sales were high in August which were second only to August 2005.

President of the Board, Larry Anderson said that homebuyers are facing a shortage of homes on sale which is the worst in history. He also stated that sales are over 30% than usual while the supply of houses is at a level seen in the early 80s.

  1. Steady sale of homes in July with low supply.

Both sales and new listings softened in Fraser Valley in July. However, buyers were much higher in number than sellers which resulted in inventory getting lowest for July since 1981.

Total 2,006 property sales were processed by the Board in July which was a decrease of 11% from June and a 4.5% decrease from July last year. Sales were unusually high which was 15% above the ten-year average.
